We’re on a mission to create a generation of innovators who can solve the worlds biggest challenges.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!
Why we teach
If we want our teenagers to be a generation of future-shapers that can solve our world’s biggest challenges, then we need to give them the tools to do just that.
By teaching young people the qualities of what it means to be a young entrepreneur; as well as the skills of ideation, innovation and creativity when it comes to problem-solving, we can future proof our world.
Ultimately, we think that by working with teens, we can help shape our industries, workplace and society as a whole. That’s good enough for us.
What we teach
Young people are our future world-changers. By teaching them how to bring their ideas to life with confidence and meaning, we can give them the tools to make the big changes that the world needs.
That’s our main focus: shaping future talent to help them be the problem solvers of the future. It’s why our work experience programmes are always themed about diversity, innovation, social mobility, and sustainability – the key impact and legacy points for our business.
Who we teach
In collaboration with industry giants, councils, brands, government initiatives and more, we deliver six-week-long work experience programmes to 13 to 18-year-olds nationwide. They’re paid, too!
Our students are recruited to these programmes through light touch schools outreach at a national scale and through direct-to-teen social media campaigns, with the aim of being as diverse as possible – giving opportunities to teens from underrepresented communities to learn and succeed, not just ‘the top of the class’.
So far, we’ve helped deliver over 3,000 young people in the UK the entrepreneurial skills they need to succeed as inspired employees of the 21st century. But here at Startup Sherpas, we dream big, and have goals to deliver work experience to one million young people globally by 2029.
How we teach
We have codified the process of bringing ideas to life into structured, step-by-step exercises that anyone can follow.
All our programmes, which we’ve named our Super Squads, are delivered using our aptly named e-Doing platform – our proprietary digital platform.
Our programmes consist of various ‘missions’ in efforts to answer an overarching question, assigned by the client or sponsor – these are tasks that help cover the skills of innovation, creativity, leadership and ideation.
In each Super Squad, students are given a design question, and it’s their goal to create solutions to a problem that’s usually faced on a population level.
Where we teach
Our digital platform, e-Doing, allows access for students (fondly named our Sherpees!) to work from wherever they are in the world, whenever they are available
