What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be juggling plenty of responsibilities, but here’s a peek at your day-to-day:

• Train operations pro: Master the art of train doors, signals, and controls to keep everything on track.
• Customer guru: Greet passengers, check tickets, and create a welcoming atmosphere onboard.
• Safety superhero: Handle emergencies like a pro, enforce safety rules, and lead evacuations if needed.
• Conflict resolver: Calmly de-escalate tricky situations and ensure everyone stays cool and collected.
• Announcement legend: Deliver clear and confident updates over the passenger announcement system.
• Data whizz: Record incidents, ticket sales, and delays with precision.
• Tech-savvy multitasker: Use tablets, body-worn cameras, and other tools to stay in control and connected.

Essential Requirements:

• Live within a 45-minute car journey from your station.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Pass the RIS3452 Train Worker medical assessment (including vision, hearing, and drug/alcohol tests).
• Commit to shift patterns, including early mornings and late nights (public transport not always available).

What’s the Journey Like?
Your journey starts with three months of intensive classroom-based training in Leeds or Manchester. You’ll dive deep into safety protocols, train operations, and customer service, learning everything you need to become a qualified Train Conductor.
